Verona Area School District has a high school associate principal opening, effective August 1, 2017. Verona Area High School (VAHS) is grades 9-12 with a projected enrollment of 1,580 students. The near 1,600 students at Verona Area High School come from diverse economic, cultural, linguistic and ethnic backgrounds. VAHS has 23% of its students receiving free / reduced lunches, 25% of the students are students of color, 6% are English Language Learners and 7.1% receive special education services.
We’re looking for an associate principal to join a progressive school district that is committed to ensuring the success of every single student. As associate principal, you’ll facilitate student learning; oversee student discipline and attendance; select, develop and evaluate staff; assist with the development and implementation of curriculum; coordinate decision making processes in the building; administer school programs and facilities; oversight of Departments; participate in meetings, committees and events; foster and encourage innovation and entrepreneurship; and other duties as assigned. Some evening and supervision time is required.
Salary, Benefits, Length of Contract: This position works a 220 day (10 month) contract with starting compensation of $92,248- $104,626 per year, depending on qualifications and experience. We also offer an exceptional benefits package and the opportunity to make a difference for kids.

Requirements: Successful candidates must have, or be eligible for, a valid Wisconsin administrative license. Candidates must also be able to demonstrate skills in the following areas:

The best qualified candidates will have a portfolio of evidence showing their leadership has reduced / eliminated achievement gaps, elevated the learning and achievement of all students and put in place practices / school policies that ensure equity of opportunity for all students. Preference will also be given to candidates with significant high school associate principal and teaching experience, along with prior experience as an administrator / teacher of / bilingual students. Bi-lingual (Spanish) language skills are a plus.
