The ideal candidate will possess the following skills: • Proven leadership and the desire and ability to implement the District’s strategic plan, Vision 2020. • Successful experience in an urban school district, including the implementation of best practices designed to ensure that all students will be successful. • Successful experience working with low performing schools and an understanding of how they can be improved. • A commitment to and an understanding of staff and student diversity and a commitment to the success and enhancement of the District’s student assignment plan. • A commitment to strengthening and enhancing the District’s relationships with state and local leadership, business partners, and a diverse array of community groups. • The ability to recruit, manage, develop, and retain a cohesive leadership team.
