The students, staff and parents of Stoner Prairie Elementary school are looking for an exceptional, customer service oriented leader to serve as their next principal. Stoner Prairie Elementary school is a K-5 neighborhood school located within the City of Fitchburg, Wisconsin and is part of the Verona Area School District. Stoner Prairie has a student population of approximately 370 students. Demographically, 45% of Stoner Prairie students are students of color, 19% are students are linguistically diverse, 7% are students with special needs and 37% are students whose families receive assistance with meal costs. Stoner Prairie is the second most diverse school in our school district in those categories. The building also currently houses the Verona Area International School a K-5 Chinese immersion charter school of approximately 100 students (this charter school has its own Director / Principal) and serves as a preK site in partnership with the YMCA. Two large housing developments within the Stoner Prairie attendance area are projected to increase enrollment in the coming 2 – 5 years.
The Stoner Prairie principalship is an awesome opportunity for the right person. Stoner Prairie serves students from areas of very low income to very high income. Many incoming kindergartners are already readers. Many incoming kindergartners struggle with letter recognition. The dedicated, well-trained and hard-working staff is a mix of veterans and those new to the profession who are eager to work collaboratively with each other and their next principal. Finally, many Stoner Prairie parents are highly engaged and desiring a partnership with their next principal.

Additional Salary Information: Salary, Benefits, Length of Contract: This position works a 260-day (12 month) contract with starting compensation that is negotiable but will be no less than $112,006 with an exceptional benefits package.
