Widener Partnership Charter School (WPCS), located near metropolitan Philadelphia, is searching for an inspirational leader to collaborate with parents, staff, University faculty, and students to provide a world-class educational experience for our 400 K-8 students.
As Pennsylvania’s first university-based charter school, WPCS is located adjacent to Widener University in Chester, PA, and serves the families of the Chester-Upland School District. In its twelfth year, the school’s mission of developing students academically, emotionally and physically, is achieved with support from Widener University faculty and leadership, WPCS caregivers, community organizations, and dedicated staff.

Required Experience and Qualifications
Previous experience overseeing a team of educational leaders, faculty, and support staff including recruiting, training, and evaluating staff.
Certified School Administrator in Pennsylvania (or possess the required qualifications to be certified).
Instructional leader who has coordinated the efforts of a school or district community to strengthen and improve academic performance. Experience engaging such community in ongoing improvement efforts in an urban setting preferred.
Effective communicator who can build the trust of the school and local community while implementing the vision and mission of WPCS through strategic initiatives in consultation with the Board and/or University leadership.
Visionary Leader who has the ability to balance a sense of urgency to achieve goals with the kindness and compassion necessary to maintain a positive climate.
Demonstrated financial acumen. Experience preparing, advocating for and managing/balancing budgets. Ability to ensure the adequacy of internal controls.
Known as a relationship builder who fosters ongoing and productive relationships with faculty and students, community representatives, organizations, and Board members.
