Curriculum Specialist/Director, District Administration
Under the supervision of the Superintendent, this key position has oversight over district, but interrelated components that provide access to information, resources, and personnel necessary to lead the division's efforts to address inequalities and experiences, that create barriers to student engagement and achievement. In collaboration with the Superintendent, district leadership, stakeholder groups, and the community, the Director of Equity and Accountability facilitates the development, implementation, and refinement of a comprehensive, metrics-based educational equity strategy that promotes a supportive and culturally-responsive learning environment focusing on the academic achievement of all students. The strategy will address issues to include, but not be limited to,
Gaps in student achievement;
minority underrepresentation in and access to advanced placement and accelerated programs;
implicit bias and cultural competence; and
challenges in workforce diversity and inclusion.

Master's degree required. Doctorate desired.
Eligible for a license issued by the Virginia Department of Education with an endorsement in Administration & Supervision required.
Minimum of five years of progressively responsible and successful service as a PreK-12 school administrator required.
Prior professional experience must evidence an understanding of and commitment to educational equity, inclusion, and cultural competence.
