Under the direction of the Executive Director of Learning and Organizational Development the Teaching and Learning Facilitator (TLF) provides leadership in the development, implementation of and support for the school division’s K-12 ESOL instructional program and designs, delivers professional learning opportunities for all educators and in all content areas with emphasis on school level educator coaching and support. The ESOL TLF implements the goals and objectives of the Title grants that pertain to the teaching and learning of all K-12 English Learning students and collaborates with the Office of Program Evaluation to ensure alignment with school improvement plans, the Strategic Plan, and compliance with state and federal programs supporting EL students throughout the school division. The TLF develops communities of practice and networks of teacher leaders across the school division to ensure continuous improvement in implementing interdisciplinary approaches, high quality teaching, and successful continuous growth and learning for all K-12 EL students and their SCPS educators. This leadership position is part of a multidisciplinary team of educators who work together to support all SCPS schools and programs.

Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia postgraduate professional license with an endorsement in ESOL or evidence of equivalent certification in the field
Evidence of strong interpersonal skills and experience working/collaborating on instructional teams and in PLCs is required.
A Master’s degree is preferred.
Classroom teaching experience required.
Must have curricular design experience in ESOL program development and teaching experience delivering instruction to K-12 EL students
Must have experience designing and delivering high quality professional learning opportunities to administrators, teachers, and students.
Comprehensive knowledge of ESOL instructional best practices and Title III grant compliance is required
