Archbishop Mitty High School seeks candidates for the position of Head Librarian.
Specific Duties of the position include the following:
Educates students and teachers to issues of informational literacy
Reviews, updates, and coordinates with vendors relative to academic databases
Designs and executes library orientation programs for faculty and students
Selects, orders, and processes print, non-print, digital, and resource materials for the library
Assists students with research activities
Supervises professional support staff
Forms and supervises volunteer support staff
Maintains the in-house webpage
Creates and manages annual budget for the library
Causes to be maintained the physical setting of the library, inclusive of physical and aesthetic features
The position is full-time, with assigned days comparable to those of a full-time teacher during the academic year. Duties to commence at a date to be determined, based on when the school returns to on-campus instruction.
Applicants should hold an academic degree in library science or a comparable field of study and have had five years of professional experience in a high school or higher education setting.
