Coordinating instruction and curriculum efforts within the school; maintaining responsibility for all students The Instructional Coordinator collaborates with others and provides school support to all teachers and individual support to students with significant academic and/or behavior challenges. This position will be Monday-Thursday 8:15-4:15 with some after school and evening events.
Be an advocate and support for creative and responsive differentiated instruction;
Work with teachers to provide extension opportunities for students qualifying as Talented and Gifted.
Serving as a member of the school leadership team;
Serve as master teacher and mentor
Coordinating the development, evaluation, and articulation school curriculum;
Collaborate with principal to organize school professional development activities;
Support new teachers and teachers with specific growth goals.
Co-teaching to provide opportunities for small group instruction and individual student attention.
Coordinating services with Learning Specialist and Instructional Assistants to ensure the individual learning needs of students are met.
Coordinating the screening for, identification of, and service for second language students
Assisting in a variety of organizational duties including development of school culture and positive community relations
Collegial development and improvement of instruction
Development of schedules and placement of students
Supervision at recess and teaching in classrooms as needed
Provide parent education
Participation and facilitation of evening events and other duties as assigned.
Modeling and teaching a growth mindset;
Teach elective (specials) classes (various grades based on area of interest and need)
Reading endorsement preferred
Basic or Standard Oregon Teaching Certificate;
Minimum five years teaching experience grades K-8.
Interest in pursuit of administrative credentials
Led professional development and/or mentored teachers
Have worked on curriculum adoption and/or development team
About Springwater Environmental Sciences School
Springwater Environmental Sciences School is a public charter school for grades K-8, within the Oregon City school district. Springwater provides approximately 200 students with the opportunity to learn through the sciences, building upon their natural love of learning, in a supportive community.
