Location: This is a hybrid role, with two days per week in our Eagan, MN office.
The Opportunity
Under the direction of the Director of Curriculum and Instruction, the Professional Learning Specialist will develop a slate of courses and related content to support teachers’ professional growth.
High quality continuing education courses are the heart of an educator’s professional development and career advancement. The Professional Learning Specialist writes graduate level, continuing education courses aligned to the organization’s Professional Learning Model. Courses are purposefully designed with rich, practical applications that support effective teaching and learning.
The Professional Learning Specialist will expand the content area expertise of the Curriculum and Instruction team, leverage personal experience using high impact classroom teaching practices to design curriculum, and will actively engage in the content development work of the organization. Curriculum development topics are determined in collaboration with the Director and are informed by current offerings, market demand, appropriate resources, and the goals of the business unit.
What You’ll Do
Contribute to the team goals for curriculum development through individual goal achievement
Analyze trends, topics, programs, and models that support good teaching and learning
Work both collaboratively and independently to develop Continuing Education courses, provide peer review, and support delivery within the learning management system
Ensure alignment to learning standards and brain-based learning principles
Manage projects related to curriculum development, course performance, and content evolution
Provide timely and accurate customer support to enrolled educators
Strategically partner with team leadership and business unit leadership to ensure outcomes
Responsible for documentation and record-keeping that tracks curriculum development progress, task prioritization, and deadline achievement
Attend to citation and formatting with intentionality

You are an experienced, successful educator with a track record of results for students - You have demonstrated success creating lesson plans, assessments, and/or instructional materials.
You are a dynamic mentor and leader - You have expertise and experience in leading peers and designing and delivering professional development content.
You embrace cross-cultural agility - Your experience and leadership promote culturally and linguistically responsive teaching and you utilize your skills to contribute to a culture of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
You are a skilled project manager - You have an ability to think and act strategically and adjust to meet the needs of the business, a high attention to detail and the ability to multitask, and you are highly organized with strong time management skills.

Qualifications
Education:
Master’s level or higher in field of education or comparable experience, Science, Tech, or Math preferred
Additional experience, study, or achievement to demonstrate a special area of interest preferred
Experience:
EC-12 classroom teaching required
Demonstrated success with instructional technologies, Google suite preferred
