The Elkhart Community Schools Board of Trustees seeks a superintendent to begin July 1, 2024. Elkhart is located 15 miles east of South Bend, Indiana, 110 miles east of Chicago, and 150 miles north of Indianapolis. This is an excellent professional opportunity for a talented and experienced administrator to provide leadership to a diverse school district.
The school district serves approximately 11,000 students at 13 elementary schools, three middle schools, and one high school. In addition, the district serves Pre-k students through four programs. Elkhart Community Schools is also home to the award-winning Elkhart Area Career Center for juniors and seniors, supporting their transition to post graduation success in careers or college.
High school students participate in the innovative “Schools of Study” model that helps them to develop a better understanding of their future career goals through six schools of study. Students are taught the state-required curriculum through the lens of their school of study, providing them with a firm foundation in their area of interest.
