The Board of Education of East Aurora School District 131 in Aurora, Illinois, announces the opening of a search for a new Superintendent who will assume responsibilities on July 1, 2025. This vacancy provides a unique opportunity for a dedicated and experienced educator to lead this outstanding and diverse school district into the future as it builds upon its recent successes.
District 131 is Illinois's 13th largest school district, educating more than 12,300 students in Pre-kindergarten through high school. It is the only public school in Illinois that provides a district-wide Spanish dual language program for kindergarten through 4th grade students. The district's mission is to educate and empower all students to reach their full potential. The vision for the district is to ensure that students graduating from EASD 131 are confident and productive global citizens committed to improving their community guided by principles of Educational Equity, Operational Excellence, Collaborative Leadership and Student Achievement.
East Aurora School District is located in Aurora, Illinois, west of the City of Chicago and is conveniently connected to the city via direct rail service. The district houses students in 22 schools, including two preschool centers, twelve elementary schools, one STEAM academy, three middle schools, one magnet academy, one high school, one alternative high school and one partnership school.
