PRIMARY FUNCTION: To provide leadership in developing, achieving and maintaining the best possible educational support programs and services for the District. Provides oversight and leadership to support evidence based academic and social emotional learning practices. Supports staff in providing a safe, consistent, predictable and restorative environment for the adults, youth, and families in Woodland School District 50 which leads to student achievement.
ESSENTIAL PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES:
Acts as the District Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS) coordinator and, as such, prepares and disseminates student academic, behavior, and assessment data to district educational and school staff to assure educational equity and academic success for all students; acts as primary liaison between the district system team and school level teams.
In collaboration with Educational Services, serves as the facilitator of the Woodland Home/Hospital Tutoring Program and coordinates home/hospital instructional services.
Performs duties as the District 504 Coordinator. Provides annual training and ongoing training to District LEAs (Local Education Agents) Audits Section 504 processes periodically for compliance assurance.
In collaboration with Educational Services, coordinates educational services for homeschooled students.
Coordinates the District’s Summer School programming, including collaborative coordination of the ESY programming and partnering with the ESY Coordinator, the development of a summer school budget, identification and registration of students’ support programs during scheduled school winter and spring breaks, and hiring of a summer programs teaching staff.
In collaboration with district and school-based staff, monitors and supports attendance across the district. Oversees the implementation of district truancy policies in alignment with state statute.
Collaborates with other district initiatives to align, enhance, and expand academic and social emotional learning within a multi-tiered framework including prevention, early intervention, and intensive services for improved student outcomes.
Assists the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning in the research and preparation of federal grants or other financial assistance programs. Collaborates on curriculum, workshops, and Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS) with the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
Ensures ongoing fidelity of Multi-Tiered Systems of Supports (MTSS) implementation, interventions, and other innovative programming. Serves as District Lead for Restorative Practices and Positive Behavior Interventions and Supports (PBIS) and academic interventions.
Prepares and submits data, reports, and other documents for Cabinet as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning.
Remains abreast of developments and innovations in the field of education by reading current literature, attending professional society and association meetings and conferences, and discussing developments and problems of mutual interest with others in the field.
Maintains consistent collaboration with other departments and community resources to ensure the necessary coordination and support are in place for innovative programs.
Possesses a thorough knowledge and understanding of racial and cultural differences; sensitivity to issues and concerns of communities of diverse groups.
Serves as hiring manager as needed in hiring of all Department staff.
May formally or informally observe or evaluate staff assigned to the programs in areas of responsibility or in other areas as needed
Assumes responsibility for professional growth through participation in professional organizations, attendance at conventions, in-services, advanced courses, etc.
Serves as a member of committees and attends meetings such as but not limited to Leadership Team meetings (LTM) and Educational Support Meetings (EST) as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning or Superintendent.
Provides assistance to parents on issues regarding Multi-Tiered Systems of Support (MTSS), Section 504 Plans, and home/hospital tutoring services and/or complaints.
Develops and maintains evidence-based frameworks and practices for instructional and intervention supports, which includes the selection and implementation of universal screeners, diagnostic tools, and progress monitoring systems. Ensures all programs and interventions are culturally responsive and linguistically appropriate for diverse populations including multilingual students and students with disabilities.
OTHER PERFORMANCE RESPONSIBILITIES: 1. Facilitates and/or attends meetings as directed by the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning 2. Performs other tasks and assumes other responsibilities as the Assistant Superintendent of Teaching and Learning may assign from time to time. 3. Assist in other areas as needed. 4. Complete other duties as assigned.
QUALIFICATIONS:
License: Illinois Professional Educator License (Administration). Holds Qualified Teacher and Principal Evaluator Status as identified by ISBE.

Required – Master’s Degree
Preferred – N/A
Experience:
Required - A minimum of five (5) years’ teaching experience and five (5) years administrative experience required.
Preferred - A minimum of ten (10) years’ administrative experience, or five (5) years school based administrative experience and five (5) years district administrative experience in a public-school setting. Spanish speaking is preferred.
