The MILLER PLACE SCHOOL DISTRICT, located on the north shore of Long Island in Suffolk County, New York, is seeking a Superintendent of Schools. The 2,318 students in the Miller Place School District are enrolled in 2 elementary schools, 1 middle school and 1 high school. The district, which serves a diverse student body, has a long tradition of high-achieving students and has a community that is very supportive of the school district and its students. The district places a strong emphasis on providing programs that meet the needs of all students. In addition to a strong and inclusive academic program, the district has excellent programs in the arts and athletics.

Following significant staff and community engagement, the Miller Place Board of Education has approved the following specifications for its search for a new superintendent:
The successful candidate will be:
A fully transparent leader, always acting ethically, empathetically and with integrity
An excellent communicator, orally and in writing, with students, parents, staff and community
Highly visible and actively engaged within the school district and community
An accomplished administrator, preferably with experience as a teacher, building and central office administrator
Skilled in fiscal management, instructional leadership, and long-term planning
The Board of Education is offering a regionally-competitive compensation package. New York State certification as a School District Administrator or School District Leader is required for appointment.
