For the 2025-2026 school year, Milwaukee Math and Science Academy is hiring a full-time middle school reading/writing teacher. We're looking for a creative, energetic, and student-centered educator who will partner with students, staff, and parents to drive student achievement through engaging instruction. We seek candidates who demonstrate both practical experience working with middle school students and a deep understanding of effective middle-level pedagogy. Specifically, we require proven ability to implement instructional strategies tailored to the developmental needs of this age group.
Milwaukee Math and Science Academy, a public charter school in Sherman Park, will provide a personalized learning environment for approximately 250 students in grades K4-8. Our capped class sizes enable teachers to build strong relationships and drive significant academic achievement.
Since the 2021-2022 implementation of the Success For All reading curriculum, we've seen significant gains in student reading achievement. To enhance STEM learning, 3rd-8th graders utilize Stemscope kits and online resources for hands-on labs and experiments. Eureka Math, used K-8, ensures a cohesive math learning continuum by fostering conceptual understanding and problem-solving skills. We prioritize holistic student well-being through fitness trackers, a dedicated health and fitness room, diverse sports, and after-school clubs. Recognizing the importance of emotional health, our dedicated Social-Emotional Learning (SEL) program equips students with essential skills. Finally, all classrooms are equipped with Chromebook carts, Smartboards, teacher laptops, document cameras, and writing pads to support instruction.
