A vacancy exists for a Program Administrator – Emotional Support position in the Office of Student Services at the Montgomery County Intermediate Unit at The Early Learning Academy.  The Program Administrator – Emotional Support (Elementary) is responsible for day-to-day operations, including the development of procedures and processes for ensuring The Intensive Emotional Support Program operates successfully.  This position will provide leadership in the development of programs that meet the needs of students from various backgrounds, including students who have experienced school failure, students identified as in need of special education, and students with severe behavioral and emotional challenges. This position will also maintain the best interest of students and provide high quality customer service to school districts.

Qualifications

1. Advanced Degree in education or related field.
2. Valid PA Principal Certificate and/or Special Education Supervisory Certificate
3. Minimum of 3-5 years of certified professional experience in appropriate field.
4. Expertise (includes one or more of the following):
   1. Oversight of staff
   2. Responsibility for budget of programs or initiatives
   3. Interfaces with Customers and Stakeholders
5. Experience in the areas of curriculum, program, and professional development; technology experience helpful.
6. Comprehensive and in-depth knowledge of state and federal laws and guidelines regarding special education.
7. Experience in de-escalation, crisis prevention and crisis response. 
8. Specialized training in all areas of special education with experience working within mental health and community-based agencies and prior success in creating evidence based and fiscally sound programs for special education. 
9. Experience working effectively and cooperatively with administration, parents, and professional and non-professional staff within the educational community.
10. Ability to supervise and work effectively and cooperatively with administrative, professional, and non-professional staff.
11. Proficiency in the use of technology for individual communication and research.
12. Employs good oral and written communication skills; demonstrates good organizational skills.
13. Possesses effective interpersonal skills with the ability to interface diplomatically with other teachers, administrators, parents, students, support staff, and outside professional contacts.
14. Qualities of leadership and good communication skills.
15. Original certificates of clearance from the State Police, Child Abuse Registry, and PDE FBI.
